3 million users joined Telegram in an hour when Facebook, Instagram went Down
3 million users joined Facebook as the leading tech giants in the world Facebook, and Instagram went down yesterday. Telegram gained advantage of the situation and in just an hour 3 million new users were introduced to the world of Telegram.
Telegram is basically a free app used for sending/receiving messages, videos, pictures and for voice and video calls.
Pavel Durov the CEO and founder of Telegram said on his Telegram channel, “I see 3 million new users signed up for Telegram within the last 24 hours. Good. We have true privacy and unlimited space for everyone.”
Presently Telegram is operational on donations by users. However, Facebook uses targeted ads models to gain profit. Telegram’s end-to-end encryption ensures that privacy of the users remain intact. It added this feature in 2013, three years before WhatsApp.
Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp faced massive international outage yesterday. The situation went so out of hand that Facebook had to make the announcement that its services were down via Twitter.
