Spyware
In comparison to Android, iOS is termed a safer operating system, and that is all because of Apple’s stringent controls and other steps taken in accordance with safety measures. According to information from the latest report, the latest spyware known as Reign is infecting iPhones. This spyware is attacking users through calendar invitations and data transmission without the knowledge of the users.
This spyware was developed by an Israel-based company named QuaDream and is aimed at attacking iPhones running iOS 14.4 and 14.4.2. This spyware reaches iPhone users through a vulnerability known as ‘EndofDays’.
Once your device becomes infected with this spyware, it can be dangerous through many means, like access to various components of iOS and iPhone functions. It works in a similar format, just like Pegasus spyware. This spyware can harm your device in many ways, like taking over the device and observing everything that a user is doing.
As per reports from Citizen Labs, no targets of this spyware were detected between January 2021 and November 2021. We can assume that the company has fixed the vulnerabilities that were causing this software to be vulnerable. Still, users should be aware of the necessary measures that are taken in order to protect themselves from this spyware.
However, you can keep yourself aware by detecting some specific signs that can lead to your device being infected with this malware.
If any of the apps on your device are showing these signs, you must uninstall them at once and run a malware scan on your device.
