A Software Company in Lahore Prefers to Hire Non-Hijabi Employees

A software company in Lahore, Nextbridge (Pvt) Limited wants to hire non-hijabi staff. The company prefers the employees who “wear business attire” with no scarf or abaya. Located in Johar Town, Lahore, the company seems to be hiring employees on basis of their attire rather than their skills.

On social media, a screenshot has been circulating of their latest vacancy stating, “If it is not safety requirement or job requirement or it violates basic social decency people should allow wearing whatever they think appropriate #Shame #Discrimination.”

On the job portal Rozee.pk, the company has listed a vacancy and in the section of requirements it is said that “an ideal candidate must be willing to wear business attire without an abaya, veil or scarf”.

The salary offered is PKR 13000 to PKR 15,000. Along with the no scarf, abaya requirement the candidate for this job must have a bachelors or Masters Degree in IT related field, should be willing to pursue a career in IT recruitment, willing to commute to Johar Town on daily basis, willing to work from 10 am to 7 pm in shift timings, have expertise in MS Excel and Powerpoint and so on.
