Acer gaming monitors: Agile Splendor IPS and HDMI 2.1 for UHD at 160 Hz

With the Predator XB273K LV and Nitro XV272U RV, Acer announces two new gaming monitors with a diagonal of 27 inches, AMD FreeSync Premium, and WQHD or UHD resolution. Both must be fast and very colorfast, offering 160 or 170 Hz, which is why HDMI 2.1 is used in the UHD model.

Predator XB273K LV

The Acer Predator XB273K LV gaming monitor relies on a Agile Splendor IPS panel with 27 inches and UHD resolution of 3,840 × 2,160 pixels. Acer describes screens optimized for short response times as “Agile Splendor”. With the Predator XB273K LV, this consists of a response time of 0.5 ms (GtG) and a variable refresh rate of 160 Hz.

DisplayHDR 600 and HDMI 2.1

The monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium and is certified to VESA DisplayHDR 600, delivering a minimum brightness of 600 cd/m² in certain areas. For the image signals with this resolution and refresh rate, the monitor relies on two HDMI 2.1 ports and one USB Type-C port. With an integrated KVM switch, the peripherals connected to the monitor can be switched to different PCs connected to the display. Acer specifies the maximum average color deviation as Delta E < 1, which would mean an imperceptible color deviation to the human eye. Acer relies on the “Ergostand” for the base, which allows adjusting the alignment of the screen. Further details on this and additional technical data are not yet available.

From October for 850 euros

The Acer Predator XB273K LV is expected to be available from October this year for a suggested retail price of 849 euros.

Acer Nitro XV272U RV

The Acer Nitro XV272U RV, on the other hand, with a diagonal of 27 inches, relies on the WQHD resolution with 2,560 × 1,440 pixels and combines this with a variable refresh rate of 170 Hz (overclocked) and a response time of 1 ms (GtG). This monitor also uses an “Agile Splendor IPS panel” and supports AMD FreeSync Premium. The panel is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified, anti-reflective and is said to cover 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. Acer also speaks for this model of an enormous color accuracy of Delta E < 1. As with the UHD model, the stand makes it possible to adjust the monitor position. Acer has not yet given further details and the number and type of video inputs for the presentation.

From October for 400 euros

The Acer Nitro XV272U RV is also expected to be in stores from October this year for a suggested retail price of 399 euros. ComputerBase has received information about this item from Acer under NDA. The only requirement was the earliest possible publication date.
