AI Art is coming to Amazon Fire TV devices in the US

At the Devices & Services event in September 2023, Amazon introduced AI Art for the Fire TV 4K Max and Omni QLED Series TV models, a capability that can make artwork using voice prompts and generative AI. Those devices will then let you set the artwork as the backdrop or save it in the image gallery.

Amazon has today announced the public preview of AI Art for the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen) and Fire TV Omni QLED Series TVs in the United States, as well as instructions on how to utilize the new feature. Here’s a step-by-step approach for activating the feature on your Fire TV device and everything that is being offered.

How do I use AI Art on Fire TV?

To use AI Art on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen) and Fire TV Omni QLED Series TVs, enable Ambient Experience on these devices. The simplest method is to access the Alexa Shortcuts Panel by short pressing the Alexa button on the remote, then selecting the access Ambient Experience option.

When you do this, the device will introduce you to AI Art and inform you that the functionality is in public preview. To utilize the functionality in its current state, select OK. All you have to do now is hold down the Alexa button once again and describe the image you want AI Art to create. Like, for example, “Alexa, create a background of a mediaeval castle of Mars.”

The gadget will then process the request and generate four photos depending on the description. You can further customize the photos “by selecting additional modifiers in a range of artwork styles, such as pixel art, oil painting, watercolor, colored pencil, Cubist, and others.” Amazon has not specified how many photos you can take.

Set the image as backdrop or save it to the gallery

After that, you can set any of the photographs as the device’s wallpaper or save them to your Amazon Photos account. You can also leave comments on an image by giving it a thumbs up or down. Amazon has yet to declare whether or not it will expand AI Art to additional products or when the feature will be available in other locations.
