All About Apple iPad 2022 and Prices

Apple has launched a series of improvements for the new iPad 2022. Apple has adapted the design to all other iPad models – it’s more angular, bigger, and faster and comes with new cameras and no home button.

Apple’s redesigned entry-level iPad now comes with better performance thanks to the A14 Bionic chip, 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display with 2360 x 1640 pixels and True Tone technology, 12 MP ultra-wide-angle front camera, 12 MP rear camera, and Touch ID.

But there is also a catch – the price. And that is probably the most discussed change in the iPad at the moment: Apple has raised the starting price for the iPad from formerly $379 to a whopping $579. Incidentally, the previous model will continue to be sold. Here, too, Apple has a hefty price premium – you now pay $429 for a ninth-generation iPad.

But back to the many improvements. You can now calculate whether the update is worth it or not. Apple states that the performance has been increased by up to 80 percent compared to the A13 due to the 16-core Neural Engine in the A14 Bionic. “For everyday tasks like working on school projects, editing high-resolution videos, or playing graphics-intensive games, the A14 offers remarkable performance and efficiency,” says Apple. You can look forward to the first tests.

Network, ports, and more

The new iPad now offers support for WiFi 6, 5G, and USB-C for faster connections. In addition, the iPad still only supports the first-generation Apple Pencil, but now only with a special accessory for charging the pencil. You have to buy the adapter separately for ten dollars. Since the iPad now uses a USB-C connection instead of the Lightning port, the pencil can only be charged via this adapter. After all, this is included in the newly sold Apple Pencils of the first generation. The price increases from $109 to $119.

The new iPad can be ordered now. You have the choice between blue, pink, yellow, and silver and storage space of 64 or 256 GB. Delivery and start of sales in stores are scheduled for Wednesday, October 26th.
