Amazon Alexa Becomes Motivational Coach: A new function for Echo Speakers

Amazon is now equipping its Echo speakers with a motivational coach. With the help of the Alexa voice assistant, users can get tips on challenges and willpower from none other than heavyweight boxing world champion Wladimir Klitschko. If you want to beat your weaker self and don’t want to put your resolutions for the new year aside after a few days or weeks, Alexa can now motivate you – at least that is the online retailer’s idea.

With the voice command “Alexa, motivate me” Wladimir Klitschko switches to the echo loudspeakers, who shares the expertise of his own “FACE the Challenge” method with users. With it, Amazon customers should “receive inspiration, develop their willpower and master challenges”.

The new Alexa skill follows the collaboration with Amazon Prime Video, in which Klitschko was seen along with other German celebrities in the reality TV format Celebrity Hunted. After his active career, the former heavyweight boxing world champion and doctorate in sports science switched to coaching formats. He has also been teaching in the CAS Change & Innovation Management department at the University of St. Gallen for more than six years. But his new Alexa feature is not permanent – the coach will only advise Echo users until January 31, 2022.

Discount promotion for echo speakers

At the same time as the announcement of the new Alexa function, Amazon is reducing the prices of its Echo speakers in its own online shop and at partners such as Media Markt and Saturn. The Echo Dot (3rd generation) is available for €21.99 and the current fourth generation for €29.99 for an affordable entry-level model. There is also a discount on the classic Echo 4 model and various smart speakers from the Echo Show series, which in addition to the voice assistant also have a display.
