AWS is everywhere
AWS (Amazon Web Services) is a cloud computing platform from Amazon that provides companies and developers with a variety of IT services over the Internet. These include, but are not limited to, computing power, storage solutions, databases, machine learning and security services. Instead of operating their own servers, users can use these resources flexibly, scalably and as needed.
AWS is the global leader in cloud computing and is used by everything from small startups to large corporations. The fact that so many services rely on AWS may explain the enormous scale of outages. There is currently no information about the disruption on AWS Support’s social media channels. Only on the Health page The service is currently displaying an “Operational Issue”, about which Amazon writes:
We are investigating increased error rates and latency for several AWS services in the US-EAST-1 region. […] We can confirm increased error rates and latency for several AWS services in the US-EAST-1 region. This issue may also impact support case creation via the AWS Support Center or Support API. We are actively working to resolve the issue and determine the cause. AWS
An update on the situation is promised within the next hour. We will also update this article as soon as there is new information about the problem and a possible solution from Amazon. Until then, the only option is to wait and see.
