Android Phone Calls Can Now be Placed and Received on your Windows PC

Microsoft is bridging the divide between phones and laptops by allowing Android users to place and receive phone calls on their Windows PC. Furthermore, users will be able to send calls directly to voicemail.

This new feature is called Calls and it is part of Windows 10 Insider Preview. Before you begin placing calls, you will need this feature. Furthermore, do ensure that your Android phone is on version 7 of the operating system or new.

Microsoft is now the latest company that has made it easier for users to use their phones from their respective computers. Apple already has a feature that functions in a similar manner. The feature is called Continuity. It lets users pass documents, pictures, phone calls between Apple devices.

Similarly, Samsung also allows its users to mirror content between its mobile phone and macOS and Windows. Google also allows its users to use the Messagesapp in a browser on both Macs and PCs.

It is pertinent to mention here that Microsoft has got the plans of connecting 40 million people across the globe to the internet by 2022. At the start, the company would be focusing on the rural and remote communities and areas in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa, then later in the other regions.
