Chromebooks aren’t the first thing that comes to mind when you’re talking about gaming laptops, but that may be changed by Google. The Chromebook Play Store will begin to highlight premium games built to play well with premium Chromebooks such as the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook, the Pixelbook Go and the Asus C436, among others.

First spotted at Chrome Unboxed, when opened on Chromebooks, a section of the Play Store will showcase those games that take advantage of the full experience of Chrome OS. At the same time , Google also set up the Doom and Doom II versions of the Play Store as its new Chromebook buy-in benefits to give users a taste of how a well-optimized Android game would work on the operating system at no extra cost.

This is not the first time Google has highlighted a specific feature of Chromebooks with the Play Store, it also had a section for apps that generally worked with Chrome OS when the Pixel Slate was launched a while ago. Although you’re not just going to play some hardcore games on your Chromebook yet, that’s a start.
The answer to “Why should I get a Chromebook?” becomes “because it can do it all.”
