Android users may now access Generative AI via Google Maps

Google may have been late to the Generative AI party, but it is making significant improvements to its products with Generative AI. Following the launch of the Google Bard chatbot last year, the business is enhancing the Google Maps experience with Generative AI. These new AI functions are presently only available to Local Guides in the United States.

As for a recent update, Google has updated its app with GPS navigation, that’ll allow you to use navigation even if you’re driving inside the tunnels. Waze provides support for this via Bluetooth beacons inside tunnels to provide this service across the world and for the latest update Google is bringing few Generative AI features to Maps.

Google Maps adds some Generative AI features

Google has announced that Google Maps for Android will now include Generative AI. You may find and explore new places by asking the app’s chatbot for a query in your natural language, and it will return results that match. Your query can be bizarrely specific and cover all of your needs, and Google will return matched results in seconds.

All of the results will be presented in a new layout that includes photographs of the location in the carousel, overall ratings, and recent comments about that location. Furthermore, you can continue to ask the app questions, and it will remember the circumstances, eliminating the need to enter your original inquiry each time.

According to the business, the trial with Generative AI in the Local Guides feature will serve as a model for future Google Maps features, as Google will learn a lot from its initial use.
