Another update to YouTube Music casting is coming from Google
For Android, the tech giant Google is continuously improving its apps. Notably, the company is adding new features, improving the existing ones, and making some UI design changes. As of now, the YouTube Music app for Android has undergone a minor design modification to enhance the usability of the music-casting user interface.
A slicker music-casting menu design has been added to YouTube Music
According to 9To5Google, the new version of the Android YouTube Music app features a slicker menu. The menu is quite helpful for casting music to compatible smart TVs and smart speakers. Previously, the app featured a Cast To A Device pop-up box with sharp corners. As of now, the new UI presents a slide-up menu that has curved corners. It is less spacious. The local Wi-Fi network shows a list of ‘Suggested Devices’ and other Google Cast-compatible devices.
Recently, a cast icon was added to the app on the top-right corner of the screen. The icon appears here persistently; therefore, it is quite easy for users to cast devices even when there are no Google Cast-compatible devices on the network. If there aren’t any devices that you can cast music to, YouTube Music will provide relevant assistance and direction.
Besides this, while casting music on a compatible device, there is another modification to the cast controls. Previously, it opened in the form of a big pop-up box. As of now, it appears as a small slide-up sheet from the screen’s bottom. The new changes are currently part of beta testing. They will, of course, take some time before arriving at all users. We can expect them to be available in the upcoming weeks.
