Apple AirPods Max USB-C Update Brings Lossless Audio & Ultra-Low Latency

Apple has announced today that the owners of the Airpods Max can soon look forward to new functions. If you own the updated variant with USB-C port, you can soon expect loss-free audio playback with the lowest latency.

As Apple said in a press release today, the new edition of the Apple Airpods Max will soon be provided with a new software update that gives the most expensive headphones from the range of the US computer group. Exactly when the update will appear, Apple still left open, but it was mentioned as a publication period from April.
With the new update, Apple wants to ensure that the AirPods can offer Max Lossless and Ultra-Low-Latency-Audio if you use them in connection with the supplied USB-C cable with a compatible host device. Depending on the quality of the respective source content, the Airpods Max should then deliver Lossless-Audio with 24-bit or 48 kHz quality.
Musicians should be able to mix without loss
The Lossless audio support also applies to personalized spatial audio playback, which means that Apple claims to offer “a more precise, uncompressed and immersive experience”. Overall, Apple Music users can benefit from the update in particular, as they have access to more than 100 million music titles in Lossless audio quality.
Among other things, Apple promises that the Airpods Max can be better used by musicians, among other things, by the planned update. Artists can absorb and mix their music by using the USB-C cable using personalized spatial audio and head tracking without losing quality, at least the company.
The update should also offer advantages for game fans, after all, gamers could benefit from ultra-low latency audio and less “lay”. The firmware update should be delivered from April, whereby the respective host device IOS 18.4, Ipados 18.4 and MacOS Sequoia must run. The older edition of the Airpods Max with Lightning connection does not get the update.
