Apple Is Beaten By Huawei In Smartphone Market
Huawei has beaten Apple to become the second largest smartphone maker around the world. Huawei is the leading smartphone maker in China and now it has become the second biggest in the world as per the sales analysis of the months June & July by consulting firm Counterpoint Research. Due to effective marketing strategies by the company and consistent performance it is now just behind Samsung to become the leading smartphone maker around the world.

The figures of Huawei for the month of August are not out yet though the indication is that they are strong. On the other hand, Apple is releasing iPhone 8 in September which would most certainly allow Apple to regain its position.
The weakness of Huawei was also indicated by researchers at Counterpoint. It is felt that the company has limited access to South Asian, Indian and North American Market which “limits Huawei’s potential to the near-to-mid-term to take a sustainable second place position behind Samsung.”
Huawei is a popular smartphone brand in Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. It just needs to explore further markets to expand and strengthen its position.
The most ironic thing as put by Counterpoint Research senior analyst, Pavel Naiya is this,
“While Huawei climbed to be the world’s second largest brand overall, it is surprising to see none of its models breaking into the top rankings. While Huawei has trimmed its portfolio, it likely needs to further streamline its product range like Oppo and Xiaomi have done — putting more muscle behind fewer products.”
