Apple Deletes Apps Without Contact Info From EU App Store

Why Are Some Apps Disappearing?

If you’re in the EU and can’t find some of your favorite apps on the App Store, there’s a good reason behind it. Apple has removed thousands of apps that didn’t comply with the new Digital Services Act (DSA).

The DSA requires app developers to provide their address, phone number, and email—basic details that ensure transparency for users. Apps without this trader information have been pulled from the EU App Store since February 18, 2025, and they won’t return until developers update and verify these details.

How Many Apps Are Impacted?

Nearly 137,000 apps have gone inactive in response, according to analytics firm Appfigures. The DSA applies to any app that generates revenue, whether that’s through paid downloads, in-app purchases, or ads.

Why Some Developers Are Struggling

Big app companies had no trouble adhering to the new rules, but independent developers are feeling the pinch. Many small developers work from home and are hesitant to publicly share personal contact information.

To comply, some have gotten creative:

  • Registering virtual offices or coworking spaces as business addresses
  • Using PO boxes or virtual phone numbers to safeguard privacy

Where Can You Find Trader Details?

For apps that remain on the App Store, you can now find the trader information in the app’s info section, just below the age rating and supported languages.

What This Means for Users

Apple’s stance is clear: no compliance, no app. If one of your go-to apps has disappeared, it’s probably because the developer hasn’t met the new requirements—or has decided not to come back at all.

While this might inconvenience users, the transparency these changes bring could improve the overall app experience in the long run.
