Apple Event: Apple to release iPhone SE, iPad Air, and more on March 8

There are new date rumors for the first major Apple event this year. Traditionally, new products are presented in the first quarter – this time an iPhone SE successor, a revised iPad, and a new Mac are expected. Apple is reportedly considering keeping its date for this year’s first event sometime around March 8. That reports the online magazine AppleInsider. The possible date for the spring event has yet to be determined, according to the report, but the sources say Apple is targeting a day around March 8 for its next virtual event.

There is no rush to plan the event as there could be some delays – at least that’s what the relevant Apple experts believe. This means that the group is unlikely to plan its event until you are sure you will not encounter any issues, such as a production delay with the new products. The revised Apple devices usually launch in time for the Apple event, which could become an issue at the moment due to the ongoing production and delivery issues due to Corona.

A “traditional” Tuesday event

March 8 is a good date because it’s a Tuesday, the day of the week when Apple traditionally presents new products. Apple is expected to unveil a new iPhone SE 3 and a refreshed iPad Air at the event. The iPhone is rumored to have a similar design to previous iPhone SE models, but with a faster A15 chipset and 5G.

The iPad Air will also have an A15 chip and 5G. Incidentally, the rumor mill is not quite in agreement about a new Mac. It has already been said that Apple is working on an iMac Pro with an Apple M1/M2 chip. However, this model can also be a bit long in coming. If the March 8 date comes out, Apple probably won’t send the invites to the media until late February/early March. Until then, we’re hoping for a series of leaks.
