Apple iPhone 13 series To Come with 7P wide-angle lens: Kuo
The man familiar with Apple’s internal matter and the founder of various Apple leaks Ming-Chi Kuo released the latest report today, saying that according to its latest industry survey, Sunny Optical is believed to be expected to pass the 7P wide-angle lens quality verification of iPhone 13 (2H21 new iPhone) and obtain orders. It is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2021.
Kuo Mingchi also said that since the iPhone 13 mini, 13 and 13 Pro share the same f1.6 7P wide-angle lens (vs. 13 Pro Max’s f1.5 7P wide-angle lens), Sunny Optical’s order is the most in-demand project. Sunny Optical will ship the iPhone 13’s 7P wide-angle lens to LG Innotek at the earliest.
Kuo Mingchi also stated that Sunny Optical’s Apple lens shipments are expected to grow significantly in the next three years. Apple’s future demand for optical lenses will increase significantly due to new products (such as AR/ME HMD, Apple Car, etc.), therefore, Sunny Optical is expected to be the main beneficiary.
The lens is a device that images the shooting scene on the sensor, which is equivalent to the “eyes” of the camera. It is usually composed of several lenses. When light passes through, the lenses will filter stray light (infrared, etc.) layer by layer. Therefore, the more lenses, the more realistic the imaging.
Ming-Chi Kuo has previously stated that the ultra-wide-angle lens of the two iPhone 13 Pro series phones will be upgraded from the 5P of the iPhone 12 to the 6P.
