You have seen the Apple iPhone SE and Apple iPhone SE 2 previously but now there are rumors that Apple is going to launch iPhone SE fourth generation with an LCD display and a 6.1-inch screen with a notch. The news came from the Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) where Ross Young the analyst said that.
According to Young as Macrumors reported, Apple is likely to launch the 4th-gen iPhone SE device which is expected in 2024. He emphasized that the display could be between 5.7 to 6.1 inches with an LCD panel along with a hole cutout for the front camera setting. It is possible that Apple may add a Dynamic Island display in the new iPhone SE if the device is going to be released in 2024. It is also said that Apple may add the Dynamic Island display in all four models of SE at that time.
It is unclear that Apple iPhone SE’s notch will house the TrueDepth camera in order to feature Face ID, as some of the rumors earlier said that iPhone SE will not employ Face ID in it as Apple kept it as a premium feature for other high-end iPhones. However, iPhone SE will definitely have Touch ID instead. This is also the way for Apple to keep the costs down and offer iPhone SE at cheaper prices.
While talking about the Touch ID, Apple’s analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple is going to add the side button Touch ID to iPhone SE just like iPad Air and iPad mini. It is also likely because Apple has already used the same modules in the iPads earlier. The notch size is still unclear which also raises some doubts about Face ID.
Moreover, Apple analyst Jon Posser believes that the next generation of iPhone SE is likely to adopt a design similar to iPhone XR, which would eliminate the home button, this is also very much likely to happen as history witnessed old designs on iPhone SE models. The iPhone XR housed a 6.1-inch LCD display, and Kuo has said that Apple was working on an iPhone SE with this display size. Young’s latest claim thus seems to corroborate these other reports and helps to cement a clearer image of what to expect from the next-generation iPhone SE’s design.
