Apple is reportedly planning to release the iPhone SE 4 in early 2025

According to recent supply chain rumours, Apple is in talks with Samsung and other suppliers to supply the panels for the iPhone SE, which is expected to launch in early 2025. Apple’s fourth entry-level iPhone SE has seen an odd series of setbacks and delays. It has been on, cancelled, back on, and then midway between as an iPhone that Apple intended to use exclusively for internal testing. According to a recent industry rumor, Apple has reportedly received proposals from several display makers to supply the device’s screens.

The Elec claims that Apple has held talks with BOE, Samsung Display, and the smaller, less well-known Tianma. It is believed that every vendor has now provided Apple with their price for the iPhone SE 4 screen. According to the article, the Elec has reiterated the idea that the model will closely resemble the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, which is why the price is low enough for an iPhone SE. This means that the companies can utilize their current production processes and discarded parts.

Suppliers are allegedly competing for the iPhone SE 4 contract for a second time. It was reported back in August 2023 that Apple had selected its main supplier but was thinking of putting orders with smaller, secondary vendors. Tianma was mentioned as one of these smaller companies, but according to The Elec, its technology lags behind Samsung and BOE to the point that it is no longer a competitive player.

Previous releases indicate that March or April are possible months if Apple decides to release the iPhone SE 4 in 2025. The first version of the iPhone SE was released in March 2016, and the current model was released in March 2022. A second generation was released in April 2020. In addition, it has been reported that Tianma will supply the screens for the 7-inch HomePod that has been rumored.
