Apple Launches New ‘Families’ Page to its Site

There is an ever-increasing pressure over Apple to control the use of technology amongst kids, teenagers, and youngsters. The demand was to give parents more control over how their children use the Apple products.

So today in response to all these concerns Apple is launching a new ‘Families’ page to its site. The page will give parents the key to their kids’ tech usage. There will be a briefing given to the parents as to how they can protect their kids from excessive use of technology.

The webpage does not reveal what new parental control options Apple is offering. It informs about the already available options like Settings Restrictions that can be used to block in-app purchases. Furthermore, in the page, information about Safari parental controls, App Store Kids section, Find My Friends location tracking option is given in detail.

iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. They’re some of the most powerful tools ever made for learning, exploring, and staying in touch. Parents love them. Kids love them. And we’re continually designing new features to help make sure kids use them in the ways you want.

Before this investors published an article stating “Think Differently About Kids.” The aim of the letter was to put pressure on Apple to add parental control features on the Apple iPhone and iPads. In response to it, Apple said that they are committed to protect the children and soon new parental features will be added them that are “even more robust” than what is currently offered by Apple.

There is a chance that new parental control features will come as part of iOS 12.

The fear is that technology will damage the minds of young souls. The concerns are increasing that gadgets and social media are negatively affecting the minds of young kids. Along with Steve Jobs, many known technologists have show concern over the effects of technology on children. Thus an open letter was written to Apple and here is the first practical response to it.
