Apple Mac Mini Leaked Renders Are Here

Apple is working on a new Mac Mini. Not only should the improved M1X chip be used, but the design should also change fundamentally. After various leaks, the first blueprints are now appearing, which should show the housing of the next desktop generation.

Since its introduction in January 2005, the Mac Mini has been slimming down, from the already compact desktop with a DVD drive to the slim, almost fanless unibody with an Apple M1 chip. Fundamentally, however, apart from minor facelifts, the design has hardly changed for more than 10 years. If you trust the insiders and analysts, however, a visual update should not be too long in coming. At the end of this year, or at the latest at the beginning of next year, the Californian company should officially present the sixth generation Mac Mini.

Drawings confirmed leaks regarding Mac Mini redesign

At the end of May, the Apple leaker Jon Prosser gave an outlook on the new Mac Mini design. In his opinion, the height of the case decreases further, while the connections are limited to four Thunderbolt ports in USB-C format, two full-size USB-A interfaces, Gigabit Ethernet and HDMI. In addition, the magnetic power connector known from the new iMac (24-inches) could also be used here. A modular structure should also ensure a material mix of metal and glass in order to bring the design of the Mac Mini closer to that of the iPhone 12 (Pro) and to clear the way for further color variants.

Almost two months after the first graphic leaks, Prosser’s render images now seem to be occupied by further construction plans, which should be available to the equally well-known insider LeaksApplePro. They also show the same nine recesses for the connections mentioned, in addition to the power switch and the modular structure. Apple seems to want to do without a classic 3.5 mm headphone connection, as it is still installed in older models. For this, one reckons with the new M1X chip, up to 64 GB of RAM and correspondingly fast SSDs.
