Apple may include 8GB of RAM and Wi-Fi 6E in the standard iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models

It is expected that the Cupertino-based tech firm might change its strategy for the standard models of its iPhone series. Notably, the standard versions of the iPhone 16 series might receive the hardware modifications previously limited to the Pro versions only. In this way, the performance and feature gap will be reduced between the different members of the series.

In a recent investor note, tech analyst Jeff Pu shared the details about these modifications. According to Pu, all members of the iPhone 16 series will feature 8GB of RAM. Well, this one is a significant upgrade since the base models of the iPhone 15 series come with 6GB of RAM. It implies that future phones will be better able to manage demanding apps and various tasks.

In addition to this, Pu claims that the standard model of the iPhone 16 series will come with support for Wi-Fi 6E. Reportedly, Wi-Fi 6E relies on the 6GHz frequency for faster download and upload speeds. One thing to notice here is that it will require a compatible router. Currently, the feature is only available on the Pro versions of the iPhone 15 series.

Interestingly, the new series might feature changes in the camera design as well. According to Pu, the company is experimenting with a similar camera layout as found in the iPhone 12. Possibly, the company will divert from the recent diagonal design found in the iPhone 15 series.

With the above-mentioned modifications, the standard versions of the iPhone 16 series will show quite similar to the Pro versions. Although the Pro models will include some unique features, the difference won’t be big. The company might change its strategy before the official announcement of the series. Therefore, the information must be taken with caution.
