Apple: New 5th generation iPad Air appears with the M1 chip

Apple showcased a new iPad Air generation as part of its announcement event. The tablets are expected to launch in March and will feature an eight-core M1 chip. So far, the processor has only been installed in Macbooks and the iPad Pro. Compared to the iPad Air 4’s A14 processor, the chip is said to offer 60 percent better performance and up to twice the graphics performance. In addition, the device is compatible with the Magic Keyboard and can be used together with the Apple Pencil. In addition to a fingerprint sensor in the power button, there is also a USB-C port that transfers data at up to ten gigabits per second. Depending on the model purchased, users can connect to the Internet via WLAN 6 or 5G.

The 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display has a resolution of 2360 x 1640 pixels. Both the front and main cameras consist of 12 MP sensors. Buyers can choose between a variant with 64 GB of RAM and a version with 256 GB of RAM. In both cases, eight GB of RAM was installed. For the iPad Air 5, Apple has only used recycled aluminum. The tablet must be available in space gray, polar star, pink, violet, and blue color variants. Of course, the new iPad generation uses iPadOS 15.

New tablet available from 679 euros

The fifth-generation iPad Air is available for $679 and will ship from March 18. For the 5G model, a minimum of 849 euros will be charged. The variants with 256 gigabytes of memory cost 849 or 1019 euros. If you want to order an Apple Pencil of the second generation, you pay 135 euros more. The keyboard costs 339 euros. The new iPad Air can be downloaded from the official apple store prior to order.
