Apple Offers Free iPhone 7 Repair Program for “No Service” Issues

A small percentage of iPhone 7 devices are affected by a bug that is preventing the device from connecting to a cellular network, as confirmed by Apple. Instead of connecting to the cellular network the device displays “No Service” on the status bar.

This issue is mostly noticed after the Airplane Mode is switched off and then the device is unable to re-connect to the service. Apple says that the problem is occurring because of the failure of a component on the main logic board. It further mentioned that it would be offering free repairs to the customers whoever are facing the problem.

There are certain limitations, though. As per Apple, the affected devices should be of a specific model number depending on the region from where the customers bought the devices. The company reports that these iPhones were made between September 2016 and February 2018, and were sold in China, Japan, Macao, the United States and Hong Kong.

Apple also specifies that it is a requirement for the customers to bring their affected iPhones to the country or region where they were purchased, and if the device has some other unrelated problems like a cracked screen, then the customers would need to first get that fixed before they could avail the complimentary “No Service” repair.

Lastly, the iPhones eligible for this complimentary service should be the ones purchased in a time span of less than two years. If any customer has already paid an amount for fixing this issue, then their paid amount would be reimbursed.

This announcement came this week before it Apple earlier launched another discount offer for the battery replacement for the slowing down batteries or the ones shutting down unexpectedly for the older iPhones.
