Apple Offers Free Repair For iPhone 12 Speaker Failure

Apple has once again launched a new program that gives owners of an iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro the right to a free repair if their device is affected by a specific problem. Apple speaks of the so-called “no sound problem”.

On a specially set up website, Apple informs that “a very small percentage” of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices can have sound problems “due to a possibly defective component in the receiver module”.

Testing May Confirm The Error

If you do not hear any sound from the receiver when making a call, you can assume that the device in question is likely to be affected by the problem and is therefore eligible for free repair. As usual, the manufacturer recommends performing a backup before repairing to avoid losing data.

According to Apple, the affected devices were manufactured and sold between October 2020 and April 2021. Those who are eligible for the repair can take advantage of the offer through an Apple Authorized Service Provider. According to the manufacturer, the small iPhone 12 Mini and the top model iPhone 12 Pro Max are not affected by the problem.

If you want to have the “no-sound problem” repaired free of charge, you can take advantage of the offer within two years of purchasing the device from a retailer.
