Apple Opens Pre-Orders for the New iPhone 16e One Week Before Launch

Apple has officially started accepting pre-orders for the brand-new iPhone 16e through its online store and the Apple Store app. For a faster checkout experience, the Apple Store app is often your best bet, as it tends to go live before the website.

Pre-orders are available in over 59 countries and regions, with pricing in the U.S. starting at $599. The iPhone 16e comes in two sleek color options—white and black—and offers storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB ($699), and 512GB ($899). Apple is also highlighting deals from carriers like AT&T, Boost Mobile, T-Mobile, and Verizon for U.S. customers.

The iPhone 16e boasts a larger 6.1-inch OLED display, a significant upgrade from the 4.7-inch LCD on the iPhone SE. This new model includes a notch for Face ID, officially retiring Touch ID across Apple’s iPhone lineup.

Under the hood, it’s powered by the A18 chip, enabling features like Apple Intelligence, notification summaries, and Genmoji. The device comes with a 6-core CPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, and a 4-core GPU—while the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models feature a 5-core GPU.

Apple has also introduced its custom C1 5G modem, improving power efficiency and offering the longest battery life ever on a 6.1-inch iPhone. You can expect up to 26 hours of video playback, compared to 22 hours on the iPhone 16.

For camera enthusiasts, the iPhone 16e features a single 48MP Fusion camera with a 2x optical-quality Telephoto option and a 12MP front camera with autofocus, promising stunning shots every time.

Other features include an Action button with Visual Intelligence, USB-C, a Ceramic Shield front, IP68 water resistance, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3. However, it doesn’t include MagSafe or the Camera Control button found on other iPhone 16 models.

In the U.S., the device ships without a physical SIM slot but maintains this feature in other regions. It also supports Apple’s satellite-based services like Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My, though availability depends on your location.

Pre-order your iPhone 16e now, and you can expect it to arrive on launch day—Friday, February 28!
