Apple plans to release the Vision Pro headset earlier than anticipated

According to some recent pieces of information, mass shipments of Apple Vision Pro will begin in January. The information comes from the supply chain analyst, Ming Chi-Kuo. There was conjecture that the headsets, which were first scheduled for an “early 2024” release, might go on sale in March 2024. However, if Kuo’s forecast is accurate, Apple appears to be planning an earlier release date for Vision Pro.

In other words, the headsets will be available in stores either by the end of January or early February. Well, this information is consistent with Gurman’s report on fueling production and making the device available by February. According to Kuo, in 2024, the company will ship around 500,000 units of Vision Pro headsets.

One of Apple’s pre-launch initiatives is outreach to developers. Software developers have reportedly received emails from the firm asking them to test their apps and get ready for the release of Vision Pro. Employees at Apple Stores are also receiving training on how to exhibit and demonstrate the headset to prospective customers. However, there is no official news regarding the release date of the Vision Pro by Apple.

The headset features two high-resolution OLED displays with 23 million pixels. The device is powered by the Apple M2 and Apple R1 chips. These chips will offer real-time processing capabilities for smooth performance. Vision Pro is based on VisionOS. It features 12 cameras and six microphones.

However, some prospective customers could be put off by the $3,499 price tag. There are rumors of a less expensive version, but it’s unclear when it will be released. Success or failure with the Vision Pro remains to be seen, but Apple appears optimistic about its early 2024 release given the increased production and development efforts.
