Apple quietly takes off Vision Pro’s “Open Sky” function from the website and introductory video

Have you watched the promotional material for the Apple Vision Pro? If so, then have you noticed any changes lately? It is a weird question, though but the question is not weird; it is something else that is. At WWDC 2023, the company shared a 9- and 22-second video of the upcoming headset. Reportedly, the promotional video has now been shortened by 11 seconds. Now, the video is only 9 minutes and 11 seconds.

Well, is this important to talk about? Certainly, since the removed section of the video showcased a feature called Open Sky Environment. Reportedly, the feature was said to substitute the ceilings with open skies virtually. An X user, @m1Astra, claims that references to this feature have also been removed from the official Vision Pro website. The company has replaced that material with the current “Cinema Environment.” Notably, this feature converts the room or surroundings into personal movie theaters.

It appears that, despite its intriguing possibilities, the Open Sky might not have made the cut. There is no word from the company on this matter. Perhaps the company decided to work on features that were easy to go. We don’t know about the future of Open Sky. The Vision Pro, on the other hand, is set to debut on February 2. The pre-orders will begin shortly, from January 19 onward.

One thing to notice here is that the pre-order process of the Apple Vision Pro is quite interesting. It requires users to place the order with an iPhone or iPad with Face ID. It will scan the face of users to identify the correct size of the Light Seal and headbands to ensure that users get the perfect fit. Make sure to update your Apple Store app with the latest version released on January 11 if you plan to order the headset since the newly released version has support for the Vision Pro-face scanning feature.
