Apple releases iOS 17.5 update and it’s all new

iOS 17.5

As expected, Apple has given the go-ahead for the iOS 17.5 update and is now distributing this latest version to iPhone users. The update brings some new features that are only available in the EU.

New Pride background

iPhone and iPad users now receive a new update for iOS 17. The new iOS version introduces an innovation: to match the newly introduced Apple Watch bands, there is now a new “Pride” background for the lock screen.

In addition, a new option for cross-platform tracking detection and the new web distribution system for apps is launching in the EU. All other changes concern bug fixes, details are not given. We have included all of the release notes that Apple published at the end of the article. iPhone owners should update promptly to fix issues and security vulnerabilities.

Update now

In addition to the update for the iPhone, Apple has also released iPadOS 17.5 and MacOS 14.5.

This is how you get iOS 17.5

Distribution takes place as an over-the-air update (OTA), depending on user settings, either at a preselected time or directly when available.

You can also use iTunes with a PC for the update and connect your iOS device there. If you want to receive the update as quickly as possible and don’t want to wait for automatic installation, you can search for the software update in the settings and install it directly. To do this, go to Settings / General / Software Update.

The iOS update will be displayed there and you can start the download and install it directly. This means you will usually receive the update faster than if you wait for an update notification or choose the automatic function.
