Apple releases the AirPods Pro 2 solo USB-C charging case

This year, in September, the Cupertino-based tech firm debuted the iPhone 15 series and AirPods Pro will have USB-C charging support. According to some recent reports, a separate USB-C charging case for the AirPods Pro 2 has now been made available by the company. Now that the standalone USB-C case removes the need to buy a new set of headphones.

The USB-C case for the AirPods Pro 2 can be purchased from the company’s website for $99 starting today. It’s not exactly inexpensive, but it’s still less expensive than buying a brand-new pair of $249 second-generation AirPods Pro. This implies that owners of the TWS earbuds with a charging case with a lightning port can switch to the USB-C case.

Delivery estimates, however, suggest that customers might not get it until after the new year. For owners of the iPhone 15, a standalone USB-C case for AirPods Pro 2 makes even more sense because it allows them to carry one charging wire rather than two. Additionally, some iPad and MacBook models from Apple already come with USB-C.

Features of the USB-C case of the AirPods Pro 2

Besides the USB-C port support, the device is IP54-rated for dust and water resistance. Users can find the AirPods in case they lose them with the help of the U1 chip. The built-in speaker plays sound when the user is in the immediate vicinity of the case. Similar to the lightning port case, the USB-C case comes with support for MagSafe charging. It’s important to remember that the AirPods Pro 2’s fundamental features are the same as those of the predecessor without a lightning port, regardless of the advantages of the USB-C casing.
