Apple Reportedly Working on a New Event Invite Feature Called “Confetti”

If you’re not a fan of Apple’s built-in Calendar app, there might be some exciting changes on the horizon. According to Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter, Apple is planning to launch a new iCloud-based event and invite service, internally known as “Confetti.” This feature is designed to provide a fresh way to invite people to parties, functions, and meetings.

While details about how Confetti will work are still under wraps, Gurman suggests that it could roll out as soon as this week. The feature is tied to iCloud and iOS 18.3, which was just released publicly last week. Notably, this same update now allows users to opt out of Apple Intelligence.

Apple has reportedly been wanting to revamp its Calendar app for some time, and it’s possible that Confetti is just the start of broader changes to come.

In related news, Google Calendar on Android may also be getting an update. Google appears to be testing a feature that lets users invite others to view their calendar directly from the app—something currently only available on the web. Additionally, Google is rumored to be working on a visual refresh for its Calendar app.

It seems like both Apple and Google are stepping up their game when it comes to calendar management. Stay tuned for updates as these features roll out!
