Apple Sales Increased In The Second Quarter 2021

Apple looks back on another record revenue and profit in the second quarter of 2021. Thanks largely to the iPhones, the company beat analysts’ forecasts with sales of $81.4 billion. All product areas show growth.

After a turbulent previous year due to the pandemic, Apple is returning with old strength and announcing new financial records for the period from April to June 2021. The Californian company closed the second quarter in terms of calendar and third quarter in terms of the fiscal year for Apple with total sales of 81.4 billion US dollars. An increase in sales of 36 percent compared to the same period last year. The Californian manufacturer was even able to almost double its net profit. From $11.25 billion in the second quarter of 2020, this has now increased to $21.7 billion.

Apple iPhones generate sales of $40 billion

Apple still does not talk about the detailed iPhone sales, but sales of iOS smartphones rose to 39.6 billion US dollars and thus account for almost half of the current quarterly sales – an increase of 49.7 percent in comparison compared to the same period last year. There are also positive developments in Macs and iPads. Here sales increased by 16.4 percent to 8.8 billion US dollars and by 12 percent to 7.4 billion US dollars. Wearables, smart home products, and accessories also grew by 36.12 percent with sales of 8.8 billion US dollars.

Furthermore, Apple announces that it has set new records in almost all areas of its software services. The App Store in particular, but also cornerstones such as Apple Music, Apple TV +, Apple Arcade, and iCloud, along with the support services from Apple Care (Plus), generated sales of 17.5 billion US dollars, an increase of almost $17.5 billion 33 percent. Despite the positive record numbers, Apple is holding back with forecasts for the third quarter of 2021. The reason for this is persistent supply bottlenecks, which are currently limiting the company and manufacturers of consumer electronics around the world.
