In India, Apple will soon open its first physical location. According to a recent source, the Mumbai Apple Store is anticipated to open later this month despite numerous delays. Apple has released the first picture of the store’s barricade in advance of the opening day, along with a special wallpaper to mark the event.

The store has been named Apple BKC owing to its location between the business and residential areas of Mumbai. According to reports, the store will be located in the premium Jio World Drive Mall. Unofficial sources declare that the store has an area of around 22,000 square feet. The architecture is similar to Apple Stores located in major cities like Los Angeles, New York, Beijing, Milan, and Singapore.

Although the store’s final design has not been shared, Apple has provided users with a sneak peek of its facade, which is protected by a barricade that is modeled after Mumbai’s famous Kaali Peeli taxi art. Illustrations of numerous Apple services and products are mixed in with “colorful interpretations of the decals” in the artwork. For visitors going by the new store, there is also a bold ‘Welcome Mumbai’ message.

Furthermore, the company has introduced special wallpapers for iPhones, iPads, and Macs. These wallpapers are created on the sketches of the barricade. Additionally, a dedicated Apple logo has been designed for the Mumbai store. An exclusive Apple Music playlist having the ‘sounds of Mumbai’ is also pushed by the company.

Just last month, the company opened a new retail store in South Korea. It consists of a unique glass facade. When Apple opens the store for the public in India is yet to be confirmed. Moreover, some reports even suggest that the grand opening of the store will include some Apple executives including retail chief Deirdre O’Brien.
