Hearable devices, which includes headphones and headsets, are the largest category of wearable devices with 64.2%, followed by watches with 24.1%.
In all cases, the lights are green for Apple. With its Watch and AirPods, the American brand dominates with an impressive market share.

As for the “ hearable ” category, which includes AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max, IDC says sales are up 22% year-over-year.
In total, IDC analysts estimate that Apple sold 55.6 million wearable products in the fourth quarter of 2020, up from 43.7 million in the fourth quarter of 2019. This represents a total growth of 27% and gives Apple 36, 2% of the total wearable market. Apple’s two competitors are Xiaomi and Samsung, which sold 13.5 million and 13 million units in the quarter, respectively. Huawei takes third place ahead of Samsung if we look at the full year 2020.
