Apple Sues YouTuber Jon Prosser Over iOS 26 Leak in Developer iPhone Scandal

Apple has filed a lawsuit against the well-known tech youtuber Jon Proser, the reason for iOS 26. The accusation: ProSser is said to have accessed a developer iPhone unauthorized with an accomplice. The Youtuber denies the allegations.
Complaint about iOS 26-leaks
Apple submitted a lawsuit against the well-known Tech Youtuber Jon Prosser and his alleged accomplices Michael Ramacciotti on July 17th. The operator of the YouTube channel “Front Page Tech” is accused of stolen by business secrets and violating the computer Ms. and Abuse Act. ProSser had published several videos since January 2025, in which he allegedly showed replica of the operating system, which was still called iOS 19, that Apple later presented at the WWDC as iOS 26 in June.
In his videos, he presented a revised camera app, changes to the news app and the new “Liquid Glass” design with rounded, glass-like surface elements. How Macrumors reports, Apple describes a number of events in the application that led to the leaks. The focus is on a developer iPhone owned by Ethan Lipnik, an Apple employee and friend of Ramacciotti.
Apple’s allegations
According to Apple, ProSser and Ramacciotti are said to have planned to access Lipnik’s phone. They are said to have obtained their pass code and used location tracking to determine when Lipnik “would be absent for a long time”. Subsequently, Ramacciotti accessed the developer iPhone and led a FaceTime call with ProSser, in which he showed iOS 26. ProSser is said to have recorded this call with screen capture tools.
Apple v. Ramacciotti and ProSser by Macrumors
Apple also claims that ProSser Ramacciotti offered financial compensation for his help to access the developer iPhone. The company emphasizes that Lipnik’s phone “contained a considerable amount of additional Apple business secrets that have not yet been publicly announced”, and that it is unclear how many of this information is owned by ProSser and Ramacciotti.
Apple has already ended Lipnik’s employment because he violated the company guidelines to protect development and unpublished devices and software. In addition, Lipnik did not report the security violation after he had learned from others who recognized his apartment in the recorded Facetime call. Apple learned about the details through an anonymous email.
ProSser’s career as a leaker
Jon Prosser has been running the YouTube channel since 2013 Front page tech and has made a name for itself over the years as one of the most famous Apple leakers. Originally, he was mainly known for Android-related leaks before he increasingly turned to Apple rumors. His channel now has over a million subscribers and is considered one of the most important sources for unpublished information about upcoming Apple products.
ProSser is known for his often controversial appearances and his willingness to publish unconfirmed information. In the past, with his predictions, he was always correct and wrong, which led to mixed reactions in the tech community. However, his iOS 26-leaks were considered particularly precise and detailed.
ProSser rejects accusations
The YouTuber reacted to the allegations and denies Apple’s presentation of the events. On X he wrote: “I certainly did not plan to access someone’s phone, and I was not aware of the situation that took place.” He added that he was looking forward to talking to Apple about the matter. With the lawsuit, Apple calls for an injunction against the further disclosure of confidential business secrets and compensation for their illegal appropriation.
