Apple to Introduce MacBook Air with Advanced LCD Display in 2027
Apple is reportedly planning to launch a MacBook Air with an upgraded LCD display in 2027, according to a new report from The Elec. The refreshed display will feature Oxide TFT technology, replacing the current amorphous silicon (a-Si) panels.
This new display technology is expected to bring a noticeable improvement over existing MacBook Air screens. Interestingly, this LCD upgrade comes as Apple has reportedly pushed back its plans for an OLED MacBook Air from 2027 to at least 2029. However, development of the OLED MacBook Pro remains on track. That model is expected to launch in 2026, featuring a thinner design and an annual production target of 3 to 5 million units.
