Apple to Showcase largest product line this year

Apple has become quite predictable lately as those familiar with the group can now predict when the company will release something. But this year there may be some surprises, at least Apple should be planning more products than ever. iPhone, iPad, MacBooks and Co.: Apple has been working like a well-oiled machine for years. While there are always innovations under the hood, the products themselves are ultimately quite predictable.

That should at least change a bit this year: as Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman writes in his Power On newsletter (via 9to5Mac), Apple plans to unveil the “most comprehensive lineup of new hardware products in the company’s history” next fall. However, the question is whether these are really completely new products or whether they are, as usual, mainly new versions of existing hardware series. Gurman: “My list includes four new iPhones, a low-end MacBook Pro, an updated iMac, the new Mac Pro, a refreshed MacBook Air, an AirPods Pro upgrade, three Apple Watches, a low-end iPad, and iPad Pros. iPhone maker success infographic: Apple’s journey to $3 trillion

Event likely in March or April

The Apple connoisseur also reiterates the information he gave earlier that the first event of the year will take place in March or April. The group from Cupertino, California will present the iPhone SE there. A revised iPad Pro won’t be seen there though; due to the planned “changes in the pipeline”, it will not be presented until after the spring.

However, the spring event should still offer several interesting Apple products, Gurman expects not only the iPhone SE 3, but also the iPad Air and “every” high-end Mac: “I could imagine that Apple would introduce the M1 Pro chip in another Mac in the first half of this year. That could mean a more expensive Mac mini or iMac.”
