Apple Watch charging issue will be fixed in a new update

A few weeks ago, the Apple Watch and charging hardware from third-party providers had a reported problem. Now Apple has found a solution. watchOS 8.4, which is currently being tested by developers and beta participants, it is likely that the new update will put an end to the problem.

Apple Watch Series 7 charging problem since december

It’s quite an annoying problem that can plague Apple Watch Series 7 owners since the update to watchOS 8.3. Apple made the new firmware available in mid-December. Soon after, complaints began to pile up from users reporting a wide variety of issues with their watch charging, especially with third-party chargers and charging cables. These range from aborted charging processes to the loss of a charging option.

Software soon after launch. With the start of distribution of the watchOS 8.4 Release Candidate to developers and beta testers, through the MacRumors reports, exactly 39 days after the release of watchOS 8.3, there are indications that Apple may offer a solution.

Release candidate, available soon

As the company explains in the release notes for the update, the software fixes exactly the bug “that can cause some Apple Watch chargers not to work”. The release candidate is available today and is being used by Apple to test the final version of watchOS 8.4, which will also be made available to the public at a later date. Usually no major problems are expected here, so general availability can probably be given as early as next week.
