Today when you’re reading tech news online, you’d get one or more news on Artificial Intelligence (AI). And it’s no more a new term. But, for those of you who are uncertain about this term, let’s get to its definition.
Although, the term Artificial Intelligence has been around for long. But a more precise explanation was first coined by John McCarthy in 1956 at the Dartmouth Conference: The Founding Fathers of AI.
“Every aspect of learning or any other feature of intelligence can in principle be so precisely described that a machine can be made to stimulate it. An attempt will be made to find how to make machines use language, form abstractions and concepts, solve kinds of problems now reserved for humans, and improve themselves.”
In easy terms, an AI is a system that will use all its intelligence to do whatever humans do with their natural-born intelligence.
Smart Gunshot Detectors Hanging Around
Now for many, this seems impossible. But if you look around, you’d find a number of machines or systems using their self-learning capacities to do what a human can do.
Take an example of chess installed on your PC. Have you ever thought how smartly your PC plays as your opponent? Scientists have developed a system where this computer chess player learns from players’ moves and then use them against you. If you’re an amateur, your PC will go easy on you considering you’re a juvenile player. But when you switch to an expert’s mode, your PC automatically switch itself to a master’s level.
As a machine, AI doesn’t work on its own. It needs a human mind to be created and start its operations. However, once it has what it to be an intelligent mind, it’d work as a fully functional AI.
Of the many features of an AI, few of them are described below:
These are few of the features of an AI and much has been done in few of these features. But, there is a lot yet to be discovered.
Google and More Against Donald Trump
Like said earlier, much has been done in AI and what has been done so far now is not put into use. Below are few of the examples of AI from our daily life:
Apart from these three, there are tons of AI examples you’d find. But none of them has been using the full concept of AI, till now.
Where man has ever been working to make their lives easier, it might sound as if AI could replace humans. Tons of movies have been made where a man-made technology tries to defy the God-made technology.
Whatever the future be, AI has yet to be rolled out to its fullest. And it’s going to evolve.
But the question here rises – To what extent would AI evolve and what’d be the future of mankind?
