Fresh versions of the FritzApps

For some, the Christmas holiday begins this Friday evening. At AVM we are still working diligently just before the holidays. There were several updates for the routers from the Berlin network specialists over the course of the week.

A total of seven FritzBox models received new firmware in the form of FritzOS 8 or FritzOS 8.01. Just yesterday it was the turn of the FritzBox 6850 5G and the FritzBox 6850 LTE. Now AVM has taken care of some of its FritzApps again. This is how they announce the availability of new versions for one iOS and two Android apps.

iOS app with bug fixes

As can be seen from the update log of the Smart Home app for iOS in the Apple App Store, several issues are being resolved. The battery levels will now be displayed on the detail pages of all devices. In addition, switching templates, scenarios and routines via geofencing has previously failed in some cases.

Improvements were made here too. Finally, difficulties with roller shutters were also resolved. They could only be controlled to a limited extent. In addition, as is often the case, the update also provides the well-known “stability and detail adjustments”, about which, as usual, no precise information is provided.

Updates for Android

For Android owners, there is little information about the improvements in the FritzApp Smart Home and FritzApp WLAN. The Google Play Store only mentions “stability and detail adjustments” or “detail improvements”. It is impossible to say exactly what is in the new versions of the applications. At least there don’t seem to be any new functions or specific bug fixes like in the iOS app.

New names for DECT devices

Anyone who uses the FritzApp Smart Home should also know that AVM only started giving its DECT devices new names a few days ago. For example, the previous FritzDECT 350 window contact becomes the FritzSmart Control 350. The smart radiator controller FritzDECT 302 will also become the FritzSmart Thermo 302 with a firmware update. Users should not be alarmed if new devices suddenly appear in their network or in the app -Names appear.
