Bill Gates Joins China’s Famous Instant Messaging App, WeChat

Two days back Bill Gates, the father of Microsoft, joined the most popular messaging app in China, WeChat.

WeChat was released in January 2011 as a free instant messaging application, developed by Tencent. The app is available for Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Symbian, and Windows Phone users.

With over one billion accounts created, WeChat has 846 million active users. And Bill Gates joined them on Saturday 11, February.

Joining this instant messaging app, Gates welcomed his Chinese followers with a 30-second video. To follow Gates, search him using his WeChat ID; gatesnotes.

Where Gates joins this social networking app to build a stronger and wider network, he calls this account as his personal blog. Which means you’d follow him to know what Bill Gates is up to and what Microsoft plans to do next.

“This is my personal blog. Where I share about the people I meet, the books I’m reading and what I’m learning”, said Gates in his introductory video. “I hope you’ll join the conversation.”

Bill Gate is not the only one using this instant messaging app. Adam Lambert, Selena Gomez, and Backstreet Boys also find this app a good way to mingle with their Chinese fans.
