Biography of Bill Gates: Microsoft founder, billionaire

Bill Gates is one of the most prominent and controversial tech billionaires, but it should be noted that none of them is universally loved. Gates’ affairs with women also made headlines – and a new biography makes serious accusations against the 68-year-old.

Divorce between Melinda and Bill Gates

Since leaving Microsoft, Bill Gates has positioned himself as a benefactor and world savior, and many people are probably familiar with his philanthropic efforts. But even though his foundation is still called the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Gates is no longer married; Melinda French Gates divorced her husband a good three years ago.

The reason for this was probably Bill Gates’ affairs with women, which date back to his time at Microsoft. In a new biography called “Billionaire, Nerd, Savior, King: Bill Gates and His Quest to Shape Our World” by New York Times journalist Anupreeta Das, the extent of these “flirts” is now clear, at least if one believes Das’s claims. Infographic: Bill Gates – The life of the Microsoft founder According to DailyMail (via theStandard), where the book was already available to read, the Microsoft co-founder is said to have repeatedly and quite uninhibitedly flirted with female employees and interns at the Redmond company.

According to the author, Gates cheated on his wife several times and behaved “like a kid in a candy store” towards young women at Microsoft. This allegedly went so far that young interns were forbidden from being alone with him.

Epstein meeting

The final break between Bill and Melinda Gates is said to have occurred in 2019, when one or more meetings with Jeffrey Epstein became known – which, according to Gates, were solely related to his philanthropic efforts.

The book also contains other details of this piquant nature, such as an agreement with Melinda Gates that allowed Bill Gates to meet his ex-girlfriend Ann Winblad once a year for a weekend. Gates had the report and the contents of the book strongly denied through a spokesperson, stating that they were based “almost exclusively on second- and third-hand hearsay and anonymous sources”:

“The book contains highly sensationalist claims and outright untruths that ignore the actual documented facts that our office has presented to the author on numerous occasions. Mr. Gates has already stated that he deeply regrets ever having met with Epstein, with whom he only met to discuss philanthropy.”
