Soon as the war of AI starts, Google’s former CEO urged officials to resume national funding to compete against China in the global AI market.
According to the former CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt, if China scores the position in the AI market, the consequences could trigger a “national emergency”.
According to the former CEO, China is on the verge of leading the global AI market by 2030 but the government of the USA is not “prepared for this new technology”. The use of AI may lead to a “threat to democracy”.
To stay in the market, Schmidt suggested increasing the budget for R&D in AI from $1.5 billion this year to $2 billion in 2022 and then doubling it each year until it expands beyond $32 billion by 2026.
It is further said that the AI market could be a $50 trillion-worth industry within the next two decades.
