China launches World’s Largest 5G Network

China has launched the world’s largest 5G network. The three government-run operators in Pakistan have launched 5G services. The companies offering the next-generation wireless technology in China are China Mobile (CHL), China Telecom (CHA) and China Unicom (CHU).

The 5G plan starts at 128 yuan ($18) for 30 GB of data/month. It will provide ultra-fast access to Chinese internet users.

According to the Chinese state news agency Xinhua, 5G internet services are now available in 50 cities. These include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.

According to Bernstein Research, the US and South Korea did launch 5G service but they were in selected areas. However, China’s 5G services are largest in its scale.

Bernstein analyst Chris Lane said, “The scale of its network and the price of its 5G services will have a pivotal impact throughout the supply chain.”

According to Xinhua, China has the most mobile internet users in the world. About 850 million people use smartphones to use the internet.
