Compact power packs presented with AMD Strix Halo

With the GTR9 Pro and the AI Mini, Beelink is launching two new mini-PCs, which are clearly aimed at power users, developers and AI enthusiasts. Equipped with AMDS Ryzen Ai Max 395+ Processors and a Radeon 8060S GPU, the devices should offer desktop performance in the compact format. Beelink is designed by design on Apple and Framework – the systems in the upper class are also in terms of price.
- Two models: GTR9 Pro as a workstation, AI Mini as a compact Ai-PC
- AMD Ryzen Ai Max 395+ with 16 cores, 32 threads and Radeon 8060s
- Up to 128 GB LPDDR5X-RAM, strong GPU performance at RTX-4070 level
- Prices from $ 1,999, market launch still unclear
High-end performance in mini format
With the Ryzen Ai Max 395+, Beelink relies on AMD’s current Strix-Halo platform. The processor brings 16 Zen-5 cores with 32 threads and clock rates up to 5.1 GHz-values that were previously almost exclusively found in desktop CPUs. The whole thing is supplemented by the integrated Radeon 8060S GPU with 40 Compute Units. In benchmarks and preliminary comparisons, the graphics chip at a performance level with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 is estimated, which is remarkable for an integrated graphics processor.
The compact design does not mean performance losses in these devices. Rather, the housing, which is significantly grown compared to previous mini-PCs, ensures that the powerful hardware can be sufficiently cooled. According to Beelink, similar to the Apple Mac Mini air is sucked in from below to enable thermally stable performance. The design is not accidentally reminiscent of Apple – Beelink was also visually oriented towards Cupertino.
Differences between GTR9 Pro and Ai Mini
Although both systems are based on identical Apu, the GTR9 Pro and the AI Mini differ in their orientation. While the GTR9 Pro relies on maximum connection variety and classic workstation features, the AI Mini is more designed as a lifestyle solution. The latter takes bonds in the modular framework desktop, which makes it interesting for developers and creative people, especially for developers and creative people.
The available RAM is up to 128 GB LPDDR5X, but soldered – the RAM cannot be retrofitted. The interaction of CPU, GPU and the large RAM pool is crucial for AI scenarios. Up to 96 GB of the RAM can be used directly for machine learning processes, which makes the system interesting, especially for local AI INFFERENS or developer environments with a focus on LLMs.

The interfaces vary depending on the model, with at least two USB 4.0 ports, a 10 Gbit/S network connection and a card reader confirmed. Specific details on port occupancy should be published closer to the market launch – however, an official date is still pending.
Premium price for niche market
With a starting price of $1,999, Beelink clearly positions itself in the high-end segment. The equipment is technically justifying the price, but experience has shown that the market for such mini-PCs remains manageable.
For comparison: Depending on the RAM equipment, the similar framework system with the same APU costs between $1,600 and $2,000. For Europe, Beelink gives prices from 1,859 euros up to 2,329 euros. This makes the devices an investment for many users – more for specialized applications than for the mainstream.
Conclusion
The Beelink GTR9 Pro and Ai Mini show how much power can now be put in a small housing – provided you are ready to pay for it. With AMD’s Strix-HALO platform, up to 128 GB RAM and strong GPU performance, the duo is aimed at professional users with a specific service requirement. The devices are oversized for everyday life, but in the area of AI development or GPU accelerated workloads they could become an exciting alternative. Prices start at around $ 1,999-a market launch in Europe is still pending.
