Duckduckgo introduces filters against AI generated pictures

Many users have already been annoyed by the increasing Schwemme of AI generated pictures on the net. The Duckduckgo search engine therefore enables its users to hide such content from the search results.
Help against AI-Slop
The company is reacting to the increasing spread of so -called “AI -Slops” – qualitatively inferior, often misleading content that was created by artificial intelligence and have spread greatly on the Internet. From now on, users are available in the picture search Duckduckgos a new dropdown menu with the name “AI pictures”. There it can be set whether AI generated content should be displayed or hidden. The aim is to significantly reduce the visibility of automatically generated images and thus enable more control over the quality of the search results.
The filter is based on manually neat, source -open block lists, including from Ublock Origin. These contain domains and sources that are known for spreading AI images. According to Duckduckgo, the new function cannot recognize all of this content, but it should effectively filter out a large part of it.
More should come
An example from the announcement of the company shows a search for pictures of a “Baby Pfau”-a motive that was considered a prime example of flooding by AI generated images in the past. A year ago, users had already pointed out that search results, for example, are increasingly dominated by such artificial content. Even if Google has made improvements since then, the problem remains. Duckduckgo is now relating to a simple but effective solution to counteract this. The company also announced that they want to develop further filters and tools in the future in order to make the use of AI content more transparent and user-friendly.
