EA Unveils FIFA 23 with lots of innovations

Electronic Arts have unveiled the next installment in its hit football series: FIFA 23 comes with even more improved animations, crossplay, and new content for the upcoming international tournaments. In the announcement trailer, EA gives a sneak peek at the sports simulation.

Hypermotion 2, international tournaments

An enhanced version of EA’s Hypermotion technology will be used in FIFA 23: Hypermotion 2 aims to generate over 6000 new animations by duplicating real game data and bringing even more realism to the digital field. In addition to the usual gameplay improvements, including freestyle, penalties, and corners to be revised, fans can finally look forward to crossplay, albeit with limitations. For example, you can only compete with friends whose platforms belong to the same generation.

With the 2022 Men’s World Cup in Qatar and the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, two major tournaments are coming up in the real world of football, which of course is also taken into account in FIFA 23. Here EA wants to provide corresponding updates at no extra cost after the game’s release. Women’s Club teams will also feature in EA Sports FIFA for the first time, with the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and Division 1 Arkema being incorporated into the game right at launch.

Numerous improvements

There are also new features in FIFA Ultimate Team, an improved team spirit system, new FUT Moments, ICONs, and FUT Heroes are explicitly mentioned in the announcement. For Career Mode, EA promises “the most authentic FIFA Career Mode experience ever”. Players can put their skills to the test here, both as coaches and footballers, and take on the role of famous coaches. Pro Clubs will include new customization options and benefits. The Volta mode would bring improved Volta arcades and new options for your own avatar.

Finally PC version with current generation graphics

FIFA 23 will be released on September 30, 2022, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia. Good news for PC players: FIFA 23 should finally be technically on par with the versions for the PS5 and Xbox Series X on their platform – last year fans were fobbed off with a release at the level of the last-gen consoles.
