Elon Musk Calls For Ditching WhatsApp And Use Signal Over Recent Privacy Policy

It was recently revealed that Mark Zuckerberg’s network outside the EU is forcing WhatsApp users to share the data with Facebook. However, this measure is not well received and users are turning their backs on WhatsApp and Messenger in various drives.

Facebook took over WhatsApp in 2014 and so far the mobile communication service has been able to operate largely independently. There is also the in-house messenger, and thanks to the two applications, the social network also dominates this area. But this is now crumbling because many are looking for alternatives to Messenger and WhatsApp.

A highlight of this new “Facebook exodus” is the recent call by Elon Musk to use the Messenger Signal. And many followed the advice of the SpaceX and Tesla bosses – so many that Signal’s authentication system temporarily collapsed under the load.

Facebook apparently worries

The Musk call was probably also received with a lot of nervousness on Facebook because the social network is currently placing ads in Apple and Google app stores to place itself in front of Signal. The whole thing should also be deliberately directed against the messenger, which is considered to be particularly secure and also recommended by the investigator Edward Snowden.

Because Signal wrote on Twitter yesterday: “Facebook is probably more comfortable selling ads than buying them, but they have to do what they have to do to be the top result when some people search for ‘Signal on the App Store.” ‘ search.” The whole thing is also shown in a screenshot where the search can be seen and the result with the Facebook Messenger advertising.

Signal cannot resist a swipe, because you add a PS and write: “There will never be advertising in Signal, because your data belongs in your hands, not ours.”
