Facebook Gaming Tab Added to its Mobile App

Facebook is adding a gaming tab to its mobile app. In this tab users can find out content related to games. Also it will be added to the sidebar as an option.

Users via the gaming tab can watching videos related to games, discover new stuff and connect with gaming groups operational on Facebook.

Facebook said,   “We want to make it easier for people to find and connect around their favorite games, streamers, groups, and more.”

The gaming tab would be slowly and gradually rolled out for users. Initially some users will be able to access it and later it will be rolled out for all. If you are not able to access gaming tab via the main navigation bar, visit Bookmark menu to access it.

Also Facebook is beta-testing a standalone Facebook Gaming App for Android. It will have more features than the gaming tab.

Facebook said,  “As we learn from the community, we’ll test new experiences in the tab, add more types of gaming content, and improve our content recommendations over time… We’re getting feedback from the gaming community as we consider further rollout plans.”

The Facebook gaming app will compete with YouTube and Twitch gaming content.

Vice president of gaming at Facebook said, “Gaming is pretty huge on Facebook, with 700 million people on our platform. They play games, watch each other play games, or build communities in groups.”
