Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Facebook Inc, Mark Zuckerberg said on Tuesday that the company is planning to add a dating service to its world’s largest social networking platform. Mark said that for the first time the social media giant has actively tried to help people form their romantic relationships.
During the Facebook’s annual F8 conference, Mark told software developers that a dating service would be a natural fit for their company as their social network specializes in connecting people online with each other.

“Currently there are 200 million Facebook users that list themselves as single, so clearly there’s something to do here”, Mark added.
“The feature would be for the people who want to find long-term relationships, not just hook-ups. This feature will be optional and we are trying to launch it soon”, he added, without giving a specific date of launching.
We are developing the dating service while keeping privacy in mind so that the other friends will not be able to see a user’s personal dating profile, he added.
